Stargaze Escape: Where Tesselle Meets Modfire in the Mojave
Karin Jeske #architecture #design Breeze Blocks Vacation Rental
Perched beneath the vivid desert sky of Yucca Valley, Stargaze Escape is a modern desert retreat envisioned, designed, and built by Jonny Emerick, in collaboration with Art Marquez of Blu Haus Design. Every element, from the home’s slanted rooflines to the custom metal screens, gates, and interior furnishings, reflects a deep commitment to craftsmanship and design integrity.
At the heart of the property, Coterie Breeze Blocks by Tesselle form a striking architectural screen that defines the outdoor living space. Their circular openings create a rhythm of shadow and light that changes throughout the day, balancing privacy with openness and connecting the home seamlessly to its desert surroundings.

At the end of the driveway of this impeccably restored William Krisel-designed home stands a bold pop of personality: a wall constructed from Exclamation Breeze Blocks, designed by the artist Shag and painted in vibrant chartreuse. Set in a playful quarter-turned layout, the wall adds sculptural impact and curb appeal, perfectly complementing the home’s architecture.
