Some installations just stay with you—and this one by Rolly Devore is a standout. In his backyard in Orange, California, Rolly created not one but two tiled planters, each wrapped in Tapa Green Cement Tiles by artist Shag (Josh Agle), available exclusively from Tesselle.
One square, one rectangular, both planters feature a curated mix of Tapa tile designs laid out in a custom pattern that’s bold, playful, and unmistakably Shag. With shades of green, white, and deep brown, the tiles bring graphic energy to the space while complementing the lush trees planted inside each structure.
It’s a perfect example of how artful tilework can transform even the most functional landscape elements. These planters don’t just hold trees—they anchor the entire yard with a dose of mid-century personality and modern creativity.
