Hsu McCullough home featuring Tesselle Breeze Blocks

Dezeen features an article about the design of a chevron-shaped home, called Psomas, in Los Angeles' Mar Vista district, which was created by local studio Hsu McCullough. The house was designed around an elm tree discovered during the cleaning and trimming of the overgrown site. The exterior is finished in stucco and ash wood and features a Tesselle Quad Breeze Block cement wall surrounding a patio, while the interiors have light white oak hardwood flooring and cabinetry. The house includes an atrium with Japanese zen garden-inspired set stones, passive cooling properties, and large windows by the staircase overlooking the elm tree. The rooftop terrace offers views of the surrounding properties, and a planted roof garden sits above the three-car garage. The backyard features a rectangular pool, deck, barbecue area, and a 300-square-foot cube-shaped pool house and accessory dwelling unit.
